A few years ago, when I studied photography, a student came up with a very happy project. She presented ten common things that bring you happiness. As she showed the gigantic matted pictures, we all were eagerly waiting to discover her definition of happiness in 10 examples.
There were some facts I did not agree with like: TV brings you happiness. Chips bring you happiness. But there was one that really caught my eye. The image of a baby. Babies are happy. Babies make us happy.
Each time I photograph a newborn, I am dazzled by the beauty, the perfection, the miracle of life. Even when a tiny baby cries for the entire photosession, I keep on smiling. I feel good when I take pictures, but even much, much, much happier when I take children pictures. Happiness happens before the session, when I am checking the light and my camera, during the session and while I edit the images.
Baby B. is a perfect little boy. He was two weeks old for this photoshoot. His eyes were wide open, he seemed to be curious of everything surrounding him. His parents were waiting for a smile and it never came. But his little eyes showed a constant peaceful emotion. Photographing him was a treat, a true pleasure, a pure moment of bliss and joy.
